Dominican Shrine of Saint Jude

For more than eighty years, in the heart of Manhattan, New York, under the auspices of the Dominican Friars of Saint Catherine of Siena Church and Priory, the Dominican Shrine of Saint Jude has cared for tens of thousands of the faithful who have come to this oasis of hope.

SAINT JUDE THADDEUS, the Apostle of Hope, is the saint to whom millions of the faithful pray in times of great distress. The Dominican Shrine of Saint Jude is located within the Church of Saint Catherine of Siena in New York City.

This Shrine, dedicated to Saint Jude Thaddeus, was built within the new (second) Church of Saint Catherine of Siena and dedicated on 3 May 1931. It was at this time that the Dominicans instituted devotions to Saint Jude, so that the Shrine was referred to as the “Metropolitan Church of the Apostolate of Saint Jude Thaddeus.”
